One thing I’ve learned about life is that it can be incredibly overwhelming and exhausting.
In those moments, the idea of keeping a home and living with intention can feel like just another task on a long to-do list. But what if we could build a strong foundation that helps guide what we bring into our space—so that our choices are rooted in purpose, not just reactions to stress or emotional heaviness?
I’ve come to believe that constantly buying or holding onto things can sometimes be a response to deeper emotional wounds. We might not even realize it, but collecting or clinging to possessions can become a coping mechanism—a way to soothe pain or avoid facing unresolved trauma. Things can quietly step in when our emotional needs in relation with others go unmet. Becoming aware of these patterns isn’t easy, though it can be incredibly freeing.
What I like to explore is how we can bring more mindfulness to our daily actions and start asking ourselves why we feel so strongly about needing certain things. Sometimes, it just takes a fresh perspective—someone who can reflect things back to you gently and help you notice what’s no longer working.
This ties into the philosophy of Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese practice centered on creating harmony between people and their environment. Our surroundings reflect who we are. So it’s worth asking: What does your space say about you, and how might you want it to shift?
A beautiful starting point is the book Live Green by Jen Chillingsworth—it helped me begin my own journey into intentional living. I’d love to hear your stories and walk alongside you on this path.

Heart-Brain Coherence: A Summer Invitation to Inner Harmony
Summer invites us to slow down, savor the warmth, and reconnect—with nature, with others, and most importantly, with ourselves. It’s the perfect season to explore the power of heart-brain coherence: a simple, profound way to create harmony between the mind and the heart.
Heart-brain coherence occurs when our thoughts, emotions, and physical rhythms align in a state of balance. Scientific research shows that when we experience uplifting emotions—like gratitude, joy, or appreciation—the heart’s rhythm becomes smooth and harmonious. This, in turn, signals the brain to operate more efficiently, enhancing clarity, focus, and emotional resilience.
Summer’s natural abundance offers countless moments to practice. Pause while soaking in the sun, walking barefoot on grass, or listening to the rustle of leaves. Breathe slowly, place your attention on your heart, and invite in a feeling of appreciation—perhaps for the simple beauty of a summer breeze or a blooming flower.
This mindful moment can shift you into a state of coherence, transforming stress into calm and awakening a deeper sense of connection. Heart-brain coherence isn’t just a technique; it’s a way of living more fully—grounded, grateful, and attuned to the rhythms of life. As the season stretches before you, let summer be your gentle reminder: peace and vitality begin within.
